Salesforce Administrator

Ebara Elliott Energy•Jeannette, PA

About The Position

The Salesforce Administrator is a business-owned role based in New Apparatus (NA) and the day-to-day owner of Ebara Elliott Energy’s Salesforce platform for North America and Global Services (GS/ES). The role translates business needs into scalable Salesforce solutions and balances priorities across both groups while following enterprise standards for security, integration, data, and change management. EEE IT remains the technical partner and owner of enterprise architecture, integrations, identity, and cybersecurity. The role operates under a co-ownership model with EEE IT to support seamless operations, alignment with enterprise architecture, and risk management. It leads recurring governance forums, seeks IT approval for changes affecting integrations, API users, or core security sharing, and coordinates IT review of third-party applications and tools. It follows IT-approved environment and release practices, uses approved DevOps tools for deployments from sandbox through testing and UAT, and collaborates with IT on Salesforce releases, regression testing, and emerging technologies. The administrator designs and optimizes declarative automations, data models, and Salesforce features for NA and GS/ES; supports enterprise integrations and data governance; creates reports and dashboards; administers security; leads business-side projects; and serves as a key liaison and support resource for business users and IT. The role also documents configurations and processes, coaches users, coordinates licensing with IT and Procurement, and ensures data handling aligns with company policies for export control, privacy, and records retention.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical work experience.
  • At least 6 years of hands-on enterprise Salesforce administration experience.
  • Expert-level mastery of Salesforce Flow Builder and declarative process automation.
  • Deep foundational knowledge of Sales Cloud and Service Cloud data models, object behaviors, and security architecture.
  • Proven experience working within IT governance, including change and release management, sandbox strategy, and security reviews, in partnership with enterprise IT.
  • Experience supporting multiple business units or divisions on a shared Salesforce org and balancing competing priorities.
  • Ability to explain technical trade-offs clearly to business leaders, users, and IT.
  • Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator certification (formerly Administrator).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a global manufacturing, aftermarket service, or complex supply-chain environment.
  • Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator II certification (formerly Advanced Administrator).
  • Platform App Builder, Agentforce Specialist, architect-track, or CPQ/Revenue Cloud credentials.
  • Experience using Salesforce, CPQ, or similar tools as an active user in a sales environment.

  • Familiarity with basic programmatic elements such as Apex, SOQL, or LWC.
  • Working knowledge of integration concepts, APIs, middleware such as MuleSoft or Boomi, and data tools such as Data Loader.
  • Experience connecting Salesforce data to analytics platforms such as Tableau or Power BI.

Responsibilities

  • Lead recurring Salesforce governance forums with NA, GS/ES, and IT leadership to align the platform roadmap, review system health, and prioritize the shared backlog equitably.
  • Obtain formal IT review and approval before making modifications affecting integration points, API users, or the fundamental security sharing model.
  • Coordinate with IT Systems and Security to vet and approve AppExchange packages, connected apps, and external developer tools before introduction.
  • Follow the IT-approved environment strategy and do not build declarative configuration or development changes directly in Production.
  • Use EEE-approved DevOps tools for lifecycle deployments from sandbox environments through testing, UAT, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with IT during Salesforce major releases to evaluate compatibility, conduct regression testing, and assess emerging technologies within IT’s data security framework.
  • Partner with IT to automate and audit user access lifecycle processes and enforce MFA and least-privilege permission sets.
  • Maintain a designated break-glass System Administrator account reserved exclusively for IT.
  • Align backup, recovery, and data retention schedules with IT Infrastructure policies and global records retention standards.
  • Design and optimize advanced Flows, custom objects, validation rules, and scalable data models for NA and GS/ES processes on a shared Salesforce platform.
  • Manage core go-to-market and operational features, including account management, pipeline tracking, quoting, contract handoffs, service processes, and related workflows.
  • Maintain configuration standards, naming conventions, and a technical-debt log; favor declarative solutions and engage IT before introducing custom code, managed packages, or major data model changes.
  • Maintain a transparent intake and backlog for NA and GS/ES requests, prioritized through the Salesforce governance forum.
  • Partner with IT to define requirements for, test, and support Salesforce integrations with enterprise systems such as ERP and CPQ.
  • Oversee data integrity and hygiene across pipelines, funnel tracking, and quote-to-cash processes; use normalization and deduplication tools and align with IT on enterprise master data.
  • Create, manage, and optimize custom reports and operational dashboards for business groups and stakeholders, including PM, KAM, and executive leadership.
  • Administer Salesforce security—including role hierarchies, sharing rules, permission sets, public groups, and field-level security—in accordance with EEE IT policies and least privilege.
  • Serve as business project lead for large-scale enhancements, upgrades, or changeovers where Salesforce is a cornerstone system, coordinating with IT and implementation partners.
  • Ensure Salesforce data is handled in line with EEE policies for export control, privacy, and records retention.
  • Partner with leaders across Sales, Service, Operations, Finance, PM, KAM, and Commercial Excellence to translate business problems into technical solutions.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for Salesforce functional issues, system errors, and user support tickets; route login/SSO, integration, and connected-system issues through EEE’s IT ticketing process.
  • Document system configurations, architectural changes, and administrative processes in a shared repository accessible to IT.
  • Provide Salesforce mentorship to junior administrators, analysts, and power users.
  • Serve as a trainer, technical writer, resource, and user coach for Salesforce education and support.
  • Coordinate Salesforce licensing and renewals with IT and Procurement, and manage the relationship with Salesforce and implementation partners.
