About The Position

The Sales Teammate’s primary responsibility is to fulfill Buckle’s mission to create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for Guests. The role performs sales, merchandising, and operational tasks assigned by Store Management, including cashiering, merchandise displays and pulls, register procedures, and routine facility cleaning. The Teammate provides friendly, knowledgeable service, helps Guests select and fit merchandise, supports sales goals and guest loyalty, and maintains relationships with customers. The position also contributes to recruiting, training, team culture, visual merchandising, and store operations. This job has no supervisory responsibilities. No prior experience or training is required. The role is based in a retail store with a usually moderate noise level. Physical demands include standing, walking, handling items, reaching, climbing or balancing, jumping, bending, kneeling, crouching or crawling, and lifting and maneuvering up to 30 pounds throughout the store and backroom. Sitting is occasionally required.

Requirements

No prior experience or training required.
Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and the day of or day after Thanksgiving and Christmas, based on store and business needs.
Ability to lift and maneuver 30 pounds throughout the store and backroom.
Ability to perform the listed physical duties, with reasonable accommodations where applicable.

Responsibilities

Greet Guests in a friendly, engaging manner and provide legendary service throughout the store.
Answer questions about the store and merchandise, recommend and locate products, suggest additional items, and help Guests try on or fit merchandise.
Demonstrate products and share product knowledge, sales education, current promotions, payment and exchange policies, and security practices.
Meet personal sales-per-hour, average sales, and total net sales goals set by Store Management.
Support sales presentations using the Sales Presentation Guide and meet or exceed performance standards for business builders and guest loyalty, including fit appointments, Buckle credit card, and guest connect.
Check out and bag purchases, prepare merchandise for alterations, handle returns and exchanges, place special orders, and contact other stores to locate merchandise.
Build Guest relationships and develop a client-based business while maintaining knowledge of Buckle’s customer service expectations.
Recognize recruiting opportunities through Jobs & Careers cards, email referrals, Teammate Recommend, Guest Loyalty, and Guest Preferred.
Maintain a professional and respectful attitude and contribute to a positive floor culture.
Present merchandise to maximize sales and merchandise turn, stay current on product range, provide product feedback, and keep the sales floor sized and new freight displayed appropriately.
Work a flexible schedule that may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and the day of or day after Thanksgiving and Christmas, based on store and business needs.
Open and close cash registers; use magnetic card readers; count money; separate charge slips, coupons, and vouchers; balance cash drawers; and make deposits.
Recognize security risks and theft, follow Loss Prevention guidelines including daily bag and purse checks, and follow payment, exchange, and POS procedures.
Handle freight, re-merchandise, prepare displays, complete price markdowns, and process transfers.
Maintain a clean, organized, and shoppable store and report merchandise-handling concerns to the Store Manager and Leadership Team.
Report policy violations and Teammate or Guest concerns to the Store Manager, District Manager, and/or Human Resources in a timely and confidential manner.
Follow Buckle’s Code of Ethics, policies, procedures, and handbooks; contribute to team spirit and complete special projects or other assigned duties.
