Full Time - Sales Specialist - Cabinets - Day
About The Position
As a Sales Specialist at Lowe's, you help customers identify products for their projects and turn project ideas into reality. You are a product expert who explains specifications, features, promotions, and financing options, and provides consultative service to help meet customer needs. The role involves active work throughout the store or garden center, answering phones, and communicating with customers. Department assignment depends on hiring needs and skillsets and may include Cabinets or other listed departments. You may also serve as a contact for vendors and customers, help coordinate estimates, installation visits, orders, and project follow-up, and support inventory and department operations. Occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed. Work may take place indoors or outdoors in varying weather and climate conditions, with possible exposure to noise and moving or shaking objects and equipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of customer-facing sales experience or 6 months of Lowe's retail experience; if the education requirement is not met, 3 years of external customer-facing sales experience or 18 months of Lowe's retail experience is required.
- At least 1 year of sales or customer service experience in a sales environment with required sales goals or metrics.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
- Obtain sales-related licensure or registration if required by state law; Lowe's will support and fund this requirement.
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of experience completing customer sales orders.
- At least 1 year of experience promoting product-related services and plans, such as installation, delivery, credit financing, or extended protection plans.
- At least 2 years of experience designing customized products for customers using 20/20 or a Computer-Aided Design System.
- Professional certification related to the department being considered.
- Bilingual skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide SMART customer service by seeking out customers, understanding their needs, answering questions, and communicating the advantages of Lowe's products and services.
- Serve as a point of contact for customers and vendors in the department; provide project estimates, schedule installer visits, process and track orders and installations, and follow up to ensure project completion.
- In the Pro Department, focus on external accounts and outside sales and services.
- Monitor inventory levels and work with vendors and other stores to locate merchandise and order replacement stock.
- Perform price reviews according to pricing policies and maintain pricing and documentation.
- Support checkout functions, call buttons, departmental pages, and requests for assistance.
- Train department associates on the sales floor and coach them on development needs.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
