About The Position

As a Sales Specialist in the Cabinets department, you will help customers identify products for their projects and turn project ideas into reality. You will spend most of your time communicating with customers, discussing project needs, answering questions, and helping them accomplish home improvement goals. You will become a product expert, explaining specifications, features, promotions, and financing options to support sales and ensure customer needs are met. The role is active and involves moving throughout the store, answering phones, and talking with customers. Depending on department needs and skillsets, Sales Specialists may work in a range of departments. This position does not require regular travel, though occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed. Work conditions may include both indoor and outdoor weather, variable temperatures and humidity, noise, and moving or shaking objects and equipment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 1 year of customer-facing sales experience or 6 months of Lowe's retail experience. If the education requirement is not met, 3 years of external customer-facing sales experience or 18 months of Lowe's retail experience is required.
At least 1 year of sales or customer service experience in a sales environment with sales goals or metrics.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods.
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Obtain sales-related licensure or registration if required by state law; Lowe's will support and fund this requirement.

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of experience completing customer sales orders.
At least 1 year of experience promoting product-related services and plans, such as installation, delivery, credit financing, or extended protection plans.
At least 2 years of experience designing customized products for customers using 20/20 or a Computer-Aided Design system.
Professional certification related to the department being considered.
Bilingual skills.

Responsibilities

Seek out customers, understand their needs, answer questions, and explain the advantages of Lowe's products and services using SMART customer service.
Serve as a point of contact for customers and vendors in the department; provide project estimates, schedule installer visits, process and track customer orders and installations, and follow up on project completion.
In the Pro Department, focus on external accounts and outside sales and services.
Monitor inventory to support sales, coordinating with vendors and other stores to locate merchandise and order replacement stock.
Perform price reviews according to pricing policies and maintain pricing and documentation.
Support checkout functions, call buttons, departmental pages, and requests for assistance.
Train department associates through on-the-job sales-floor instruction and coaching on development needs.
Complete other duties as assigned.
