About The Position

Goodwill of North Georgia is hiring a full-time Sales & Service team member for its East Athens Store at $13.00. The role supports Goodwill’s mission of helping local job seekers find meaningful work through revenue generated by donations and sales at its locations.

The employee examines and grades donated goods for sale in Goodwill of North Georgia Retail stores. They process goods at an accelerated pace to meet production goals in a fast-paced environment while following standard operating procedures. The position also supports a guest-friendly retail experience, merchandise presentation, sales transactions, and a clean and safe store environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Good oral and written communication skills in English and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills and sound judgment.
• Basic math skills.
• Must begin employment wearing acceptable safety work shoes.
• Must be able to work in heat, cold, and dust.
• Must be able to bend, reach, grasp, stand and/or walk for extended periods, and push, pull, and lift up to 30 pounds, with or without accommodation.
• Must be 18 or older to be certified and licensed to operate a forklift; individuals ages 16 to 17 may not operate forklifts, balers, or compactors.
• Consistently foster a healthy team culture focused on exceptional guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Examine and grade donated goods for sale in Goodwill of North Georgia Retail stores.
• Process goods quickly to meet production goals while adhering to standard operating procedures.
• Greet every guest, deliver a positive brand experience, and suggest additional merchandise.
• Maintain a professional, patient, and people-first attitude with guests.
• Move products to the retail salesfloor with attention to detail and urgency.
• Execute and maintain visual merchandising strategies.
• Recommend and upsell merchandise and encourage round-ups during transactions.
• Accurately handle point-of-sale transactions.
• Identify and quickly solve problems or seek management support.
• Communicate effectively with management, peers, and guests.
• Promote cooperation and teamwork with peers.
• Perform work tasks according to training playbooks, e-learning, and work instructions.
• Keep the work area and retail salesfloor neat, clean, and organized.
• Follow safety and security practices, including reporting hazards and injuries to management.
• Attend and complete required trainings and meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
