About The Position
At Goodwill of North Georgia, donations and sales from more than 100 locations support local job seekers in finding meaningful work. The Sales & Service role is responsible for thoroughly examining and grading donated goods for sale in Goodwill retail stores. The employee processes goods at an accelerated pace to meet production goals in a fast-paced environment while following standard operating procedures. The role also supports a guest-friendly retail experience through customer service, merchandising, sales transactions, teamwork, communication, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. Employees may perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Good oral and written communication skills in English and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and sound judgment.
- Basic math skills.
- Must begin employment wearing acceptable safety work shoes.
- Must be able to work in heat, cold, and dust.
- Must be able to bend, reach, grasp, stand and/or walk for extended periods, and push, pull, and lift up to 30 pounds, with or without accommodation.
- Must be at least 18 years old to become certified and licensed to operate a forklift. Employees aged 16 to 17 may not operate forklifts, balers, or compactors.

Responsibilities
- Examine and grade donated goods for sale in Goodwill retail stores.
- Process goods quickly to meet production goals while following standard operating procedures.
- Greet guests, provide a positive brand experience, and suggest additional merchandise.
- Maintain a professional, patient, people-first attitude with guests.
- Move products to the retail sales floor accurately, promptly, and with attention to detail.
- Execute and maintain visual merchandising strategies.
- Recommend or upsell merchandise and encourage transaction round-ups.
- Accurately handle point-of-sale transactions.
- Identify and solve problems promptly or seek management support.
- Communicate effectively with management, coworkers, and guests.
- Promote cooperation and teamwork with peers.
- Perform work according to training playbooks, e-learning, and work instructions.
- Keep the work area and retail sales floor neat, clean, and organized.
- Follow safety and security practices and report hazards and injuries to management.
- Attend and complete required trainings and meetings.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
