About The Position
At Goodwill of North Georgia, donations and sales from more than 100 locations support local job seekers in finding meaningful work. The Sales & Service position is responsible for examining and grading donated goods for sale in Goodwill of North Georgia Retail stores. The role processes goods quickly to meet production goals in a fast-paced environment while following standard operating procedures. The position also supports a guest-friendly retail experience through service, merchandising, sales-floor product transitions, and point-of-sale transactions. Team members maintain an orderly work area and sales floor, follow safety and security practices, complete required training and meetings, and perform other duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Good oral and written communication skills in English and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and sound judgment.
- Basic math skills.
- Must start employment wearing acceptable safety work shoes.
- Must be able to work in heat, cold, and dust.
- Must be able to bend, reach, grasp, stand and/or walk for extended periods, and push, pull, and lift up to 30 pounds, with or without accommodation.
- Must be available to work Monday through Sunday during operating hours as needed.
Responsibilities
- Examine and grade donated goods for sale in Goodwill of North Georgia Retail stores.
- Process goods efficiently to meet production goals while following standard operating procedures.
- Greet guests, deliver a positive brand experience, and suggest additional merchandise.
- Maintain a professional, patient, people-first attitude when interacting with guests.
- Transition products to the retail sales floor with attention to detail and urgency.
- Execute and maintain visual merchandising strategies.
- Recommend or upsell merchandise and encourage round-ups during transactions.
- Accurately handle point-of-sale transactions.
- Identify and resolve problems promptly or seek management support.
- Communicate effectively with management, peers, and guests.
- Promote cooperation and teamwork with peers.
- Perform tasks according to training playbooks, e-learning, and work instructions.
- Keep the work area and retail sales floor neat, clean, and organized.
- Follow safety and security practices, including reporting hazards and injuries to management.
- Attend and complete required trainings and meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
