About The Position

The Sales Retail Counter role is responsible for delivering a superior customer service experience to walk-in and phone customers. The position involves greeting customers, assisting them throughout their shopping experience, supporting checkout and suggestive selling, maintaining transaction records and an accurate cash drawer, monitoring inventory and showroom appearance, and coordinating warehouse orders so customers receive their orders in a timely manner. The role does not supervise employees and may include periodically required travel, including overnight stays, depending on position requirements.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience.
• Strong customer service background.
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations, compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and interpret graphs.
• Ability to use Outlook, Word, Excel, graphics, databases, and PowerPoint to support business objectives.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing, interact with others, and make presentations to department or middle management.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously with moderate complexity.
• Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.
• Prior automotive experience and knowledge of automotive parts.
• Two to three years of prior customer service relations experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet each customer as they enter and maintain friendly contact throughout their shopping experience.
• Use suggestive selling techniques at checkout when appropriate and assist with problem-solving.
• Maintain orderly files, clean transaction records, and an accurate cash drawer.
• Monitor inventory changes to help ensure minimum stock levels and an appropriate showroom appearance.
• Coordinate warehouse orders to ensure customers’ orders are ready in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
