About The Position

The NA Sales Representative will be responsible for servicing Summit Beverage customers by selling products and meeting each of their specific needs. Individuals are responsible for the sale, distribution, placement, and merchandising of products in retail accounts throughout their assigned territory and will be responsible for customer relations, accounts receivable collections, maintaining a weekly schedule of appointments, and accomplishment of monthly goals.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of direct sales experience, preferably in a beverage sales environment or a related industry; OR 5+ years of industry-specific experience in a beer and/or wine sales environment or related field.
  • Strong beverage industry and company product knowledge.
  • Ability to lift/carry/move 35 lbs. (maximum of 75 lbs.).
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time (including bending, reaching, lifting, pulling, etc.).
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and presentations.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and judgment in interpreting policies and procedures, delegating responsibilities, monitoring administrative activities, and evaluating the performance of staff and contracted vendors.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, vendors, other governmental agencies, and the general public.
  • Ability to promote positive public relations and to convey the objectives of the facility to various groups and individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Growing total territory revenue versus the prior year.
  • Achieving growth targets put forth by management and meeting monthly targets on assigned brands.
  • Pre-planning sales objectives and running routes efficiently.
  • Calling on accounts according to established frequency.
  • Observing accounts for sales opportunities.
  • Inspecting work and back stock for proper pricing, rotation, and positioning; Merchandising duties as required.
  • Ensuring compliance with Company’s product quality assurance standards (outdated, damaged, un-sellable, etc.).
  • Maintaining sufficient inventory levels (including call-ins).
  • Maintaining account receivable for each assigned account.
  • Delivering factual and persuasive sales presentations and closing sales calls effectively.
  • Documenting and maintaining accurate records (route books, re-cap forms, etc.) before next sales call.
  • Maintaining customer logs for profiling customer needs.
  • Meeting or exceeding sales volume and profitability commitments.
  • Meeting or exceeding distribution goals.
  • Recommending and performing resets as needed and/or directed.
  • Executing all ad features and displays greater than competition.
  • Adhering to Company policies and procedures.
  • Learning Summit Beverage products and improving overall beer and wine knowledge.
  • Adhering to all applicable Federal, state, and local regulations regarding the merchandising of alcoholic beverages.
  • Maintaining a valid Montana driver’s license and keeping a good driving record.
  • Not abusing equipment and maintaining company property such as company vehicles.
  • Investigating and resolving all customer complaints in a timely fashion.
  • Maintaining appropriate dress and appearance per Company standards.
  • Being punctual for all account calls, scheduled meetings, presentations, staff trainings, and meetings.
  • Displaying effective interpersonal communication (supplier, employee, customer).
  • Demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness in all areas of responsibility to ensure quality of work.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Showing sound judgment, decision-making, and accountability.
