About The Position

The Sales Outfitter - Firearms maintains counter sales and customer service for firearms, along with floor and counter sales of other hunting merchandise. The role supports a pleasant and productive shopping experience by greeting customers promptly and courteously, handling merchandise carefully, and providing information, assistance, and direction.

The position requires a valid New York pistol permit and applicants must be at least 21 years old. The role is performed under general supervision using established procedures and innovation, with occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and make recommendations about work procedures, policies, and practices.

Requirements

• Valid New York pistol permit.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• 0–2 years of experience in retail.
• Knowledge of firearms and ammunition products.
• Knowledge of ATF federal and state regulations.
• Knowledge of firearms and ammunition customer service and sales, including GCA.
• Ability to merchandise and stock merchandise.
• Ability to stand and/or walk constantly during the shift.
• Ability to occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, or ramps; repeat motions involving wrists, hands, or fingers; operate machinery or power tools; operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment; work in tight or confined spaces; and work in noisy environments.
• Ability to move objects up to 20 pounds constantly and occasionally move or lift objects up to 100 pounds or more, using a team lift as needed.
• Ability to communicate with others to exchange information.

Responsibilities

• Support a strong commitment to world-class customer service and provide a pleasant, productive shopping experience.
• Help customers make buying decisions by identifying and evaluating their needs and recommending suitable products.
• Promote programs including CLUB membership, VOC, and in-store pickup.
• Ensure ATF Form 4473 forms are completed thoroughly and accurately.
• Demonstrate products to customers.
• Organize and maintain merchandise for sales at the gun counter and throughout the retail store.
• Replenish products on shelves according to merchandising guidelines.
• Maintain product expertise through ongoing product knowledge training.
• Stay informed about advertised sales and maintain pricing and signage.
• Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
• Keep the work area clean, neat, and well stocked with supplies.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
