About The Position

The Sales Outfitter - Firearms maintains counter sales and customer service for firearms, along with floor and counter sales of other hunting merchandise. The role supports an enjoyable and productive shopping experience by greeting customers, handling merchandise carefully, and providing information, assistance, and direction.

The position assists customers with purchasing decisions by assessing their needs and recommending products, promotes store programs, ensures firearm transaction forms are completed accurately, and maintains merchandise and the work area. The role requires ongoing product knowledge and adherence to company policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Knowledge of firearms and ammunition products.
• Knowledge of ATF federal and state regulations.
• Customer service and sales experience with firearms and ammunition.
• GCA knowledge.
• Ability to merchandise and stock merchandise.
• Ability to stand and/or walk constantly during the shift.
• Ability to occasionally use ladders, stairs, ramps, machinery, power tools, motor vehicles, or heavy equipment, and to work in confined or noisy environments.
• Ability to move objects up to 20 pounds constantly and occasionally lift or move objects up to 100 pounds or more, using a team lift as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, prompt customer service and help create a pleasant and productive shopping experience.
• Identify and evaluate customers’ needs and recommend products based on that assessment.
• Promote programs including CLUB membership, VOC, and in-store pickup.
• Ensure 4473 Forms are completed thoroughly and accurately.
• Demonstrate products to customers.
• Organize and maintain merchandise for sales at the gun counter.
• Replenish shelves in accordance with merchandising guidelines.
• Maintain product expertise through ongoing training.
• Stay informed about advertised sales and maintain pricing and signage.
• Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
• Keep the work area clean, neat, and stocked with supplies.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
