About The Position

The Sales Outfitter - Firearms maintains counter sales and customer service for firearms, along with floor and counter sales of other hunting merchandise. The role includes greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and in a friendly manner, handling merchandise with care, and providing customers with information, assistance, and direction. The Sales Outfitter supports a productive shopping experience, helps customers make purchasing decisions, completes required firearm transaction forms, and maintains merchandise and the sales area. Work is performed under general supervision using established procedures, with occasional independent judgment to complete assignments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–2 years of retail experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Knowledge of firearms and ammunition products.
• Knowledge of ATF federal and state regulations.
• Knowledge of customer service and sales for firearms and ammunition.
• Knowledge of GCA.
• Ability to merchandise and stock merchandise.
• Ability to stand and/or walk constantly during the shift.
• Ability to occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, or ramps; repeat motions involving the wrists, hands, or fingers; operate machinery or power tools; operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment; and work in tight or confined spaces or noisy environments.
• Ability to move objects up to 20 pounds constantly and occasionally move or lift objects up to 100 pounds or more, using a team lift as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service and support a pleasant, productive shopping experience.
• Help customers make buying decisions by identifying and evaluating their needs and recommending products.
• Promote programs including CLUB membership, VOC, and in-store pickup.
• Complete ATF Form 4473 thoroughly and accurately.
• Demonstrate products to customers.
• Organize and maintain merchandise for sale at the gun counter and throughout the retail store.
• Replenish shelves according to merchandising guidelines.
• Maintain product expertise through ongoing product knowledge training.
• Stay informed about advertised sales and maintain pricing and signage.
• Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
• Keep the work area clean, neat, and well stocked with supplies.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Make recommendations regarding work procedures, policies, and practices.
