About The Position

FMH is seeking a Sales Operations Specialist. This role involves working with staff on various sales and sales-adjacent activities such as calling on existing and prospective customers to solicit business, offering assistance, or addressing issues as needed to build and maintain mutually beneficial business relationships. The specialist will become knowledgeable of all sales activities for accounts in an assigned territory.

Requirements

  • One to three or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Associate’s degree in Business, Agriculture or related field required.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are a must.
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations to small and large groups.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and premium.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite programs especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
  • Some background and/or experience in sales, marketing, and/or agriculture is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates the delivery of crop insurance-related content to customers in an assigned territory.
  • Participates in identifying, appointing, and developing prospective agency business partners by participating in prospecting and cold calling activities.
  • Utilizes tactics to present and promote FMH products and services to agents.
  • Establishes and fosters agent relationships.
  • Learns and maintains a vast knowledge of FMH products, sales materials, and competitor products.
  • Educates agents on FMH products, systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains sales continuity within open territories as assigned, including prioritizing territory action plans, agency communication, identifying growth opportunities, and coordinating cross-functional support.
  • Assists in coordinating with claims, precision, underwriting, and Strategic Account Manager to address any issues that impact agents and customers within assigned territory.
  • Reviews agency production, retention, and profitability trends and provides recommendations regarding agency development opportunities.
  • Records activity in CRM tool and how to prepare a variety of status reports as requested including goal progress, product, feedback, competitive intelligence, etc.
  • Assists in evaluating agency targeting, rehabilitation, and growth opportunities in targeted areas as assigned by National Sales Manager or Regional Sales Manager.
  • Conducts preliminary evaluations of prospective agency partners and provides recommendations regarding agency appointment opportunities and strategic fit in targeted areas as assigned by National Sales Manager or Regional Sales Managers.
