Sales Merchandiser
About The Position
The Virginia Lottery is seeking a part-time Sales Merchandiser for its Sales Department serving Richmond, Henrico, Hanover, Charles City, New Kent, Toano, Norge, and Middle Peninsula. The role supports sales and distribution by maintaining Lottery vending machines and counter dispensers, slotting new games during launch periods, assisting with special projects, and performing other assigned tasks. The Sales Merchandiser works closely with the Area Manager and Sales Representatives to meet sales and distribution goals. This hourly position is scheduled for less than 30 hours per week, though hours may vary based on business needs. It does not include benefits. A state vehicle, including gas, is provided.
Requirements
- Work independently with low levels of supervision.
- Have strong interpersonal communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Present a professional and engaging personality.
- Have good math skills.
- Be able to travel within a wide radius of the sales area.
- Be able to work weekends and, on occasion, a 12-hour day.
- Be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Be able to use common household tools.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of route sales.
- Knowledge of the consumer packaged goods industry.
- Experience working in a convenience store, mass merchandiser, and/or grocery environment.
- Route experience.
Responsibilities
- Fill and maintain Lottery vending machines.
- Replace and maintain counter dispensers.
- Slot new games during launch periods.
- Assist with special projects and special distribution projects.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
- Occasionally assist with weekend events.
- Work closely with the Area Manager and Sales Representatives to accomplish sales and distribution goals.
