As a Sales Manager, you will lead and inspire a team of Sales Associates to achieve sales goals and deliver exceptional customer experiences. This role focuses on developing talent, driving performance, and creating a positive, high-energy environment where associates can thrive. You will play a critical part in shaping the customer journey by ensuring your team provides transparent, honest, and best-in-class service aligned with CarMax’s culture of integrity and innovation.

Requirements

Proven ability to manage and develop a team of full-time and part-time Sales Associates.
Strong decision-making and analytical skills to evaluate options and implement solutions.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-energy environment while maintaining accuracy.
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with associates and customers.
Proficiency in basic PC applications including word processing and spreadsheets.
Completion of CarMax-provided training as required.
Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Lead and coach Sales Associates, providing training, mentorship, and actionable feedback to drive performance.
Manage hiring and staffing decisions, including interviewing, onboarding, and performance evaluations.
Develop strategies and action plans to improve team effectiveness and achieve sales goals.
Conduct performance reviews and monitor productivity to ensure alignment with company standards.
Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring a positive experience.
Schedule and allocate work to maintain operational efficiency and team engagement.
Responsible for CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements for your department and/or location, including workplace safety.
