About The Position

ProGreen is seeking a Sales Manager to identify and pursue new business opportunities within assigned territories. The role involves developing and maintaining relationships with a diverse range of customers including contractors, landscape architects, municipalities, schools, and developers. The Sales Manager will be responsible for prospecting, conducting meetings and presentations, managing the sales cycle from opportunity development to closing, and ensuring successful project execution through collaboration with internal teams. This position requires a strong understanding of product costs, pricing, margins, and profitability, as well as the ability to represent ProGreen at industry events.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of outside sales experience.
  • Proven success in developing new business and closing sales opportunities.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of pricing, margins, and profitability.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Turf industry experience preferred.
  • Landscape industry experience acceptable if it includes significant turf-related products or services.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within assigned territories.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, landscape architects, municipalities, schools, developers, and other potential customers.
  • Prospect through cold calling, networking, referrals, and industry events.
  • Conduct meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations.
  • Develop project opportunities and manage them through the sales cycle.
  • Prepare proposals and coordinate with estimating and operations teams.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and project scope.
  • Maintain a consistent pipeline of opportunities within CRM systems.
  • Understand product costs, pricing, margins, and profitability.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Represent ProGreen at trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings.
  • Achieve or exceed established sales and revenue goals.
