About The Position

The Sales Intern participates in Aerotek’s 10-week paid Summer 2027 Ascend internship program in a local operation in Richmond, Virginia. The role provides exposure to three phases of the business—Recruiting, Account Management, and Field Support—with a heavy emphasis on sales. The intern interacts with Aerotek employees, candidates, contractors, and clients and is expected to demonstrate strong business acumen. Successful completion of the program could potentially lead to a full-time offer in Aerotek’s Sales Development Representative program. Aerotek describes itself as an Allegis Group operating company and a privately held organization with more than 200 offices nationwide, serving Fortune 500 companies and specializing in staffing and services solutions across several industries.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a college or university and seeking a BA/BS degree.
Knowledge of MS Office.
Customer service experience.
Sales-related experience.

Nice To Haves

Sales degree, minor, or certificate preferred.
Transitioning between junior and senior years preferred.

Responsibilities

Post available positions online through Aerotek’s candidate tracking system, Connected, to expand the candidate pool.
Review resumes and select qualified candidates for the interview process.
Schedule candidate interviews with recruiters.
Shadow recruiters during calls, interviews, and reference checks.
Maintain documentation in Aerotek’s Applicant Tracking System.
Attend contractor lunches with recruiters.
Shadow account managers on cold calls and client visits.
Observe the client acquisition process and requisition qualification with account managers.
Attend networking events.
Participate in lead generation and shadow cold-calling sessions.
Shadow Field Support during background investigations and drug-testing processes.
Shadow Field Support during unemployment claims and hearings.
