About The Position

The Sales Intern participates in Aerotek’s 10-week paid Summer 2027 Ascend internship program in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The role provides exposure to three phases of a local operation—Recruiting, Account Management, and Field Support—with a heavy emphasis on sales. Interns interact with Aerotek employees, candidates, contractors, and clients and are expected to demonstrate strong business acumen. Successful completion of the program could potentially lead to a full-time offer in Aerotek’s Sales Development Representative program.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a college or university and seeking a BA/BS degree.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Customer service experience.
• Sales-related experience.

Nice To Haves

• A sales degree, minor, or certificate.
• Transitioning between junior and senior years of college.

Responsibilities

• Post available positions online through Aerotek’s candidate tracking system, Connected, to increase the candidate pool.
• Evaluate resumes and select qualified candidates to enter the interview process.
• Schedule candidates for interviews with Recruiters.
• Shadow Recruiters during calls, interviews, and reference checks.
• Maintain documentation using Aerotek’s Applicant Tracking System.
• Attend contractor lunches with Recruiters.
• Shadow Account Managers on cold calls.
• Attend client visits with Account Managers.
• Shadow Account Managers through the client acquisition process.
• Shadow Account Managers during requisition qualifications.
• Attend networking events.
• Participate in lead generation and shadowing cold-calling sessions.
• Shadow Field Support during background investigations and drug-testing processes.
• Shadow Field Support during unemployment processes, including claims and hearings.
