The Sales Floor Department Supervisor leads and enables a team of associates to deliver a strong customer experience. The role includes coaching and training associates, delegating work, following up on daily tasks, managing performance, and ensuring adequate department coverage. Supervisors support both customer-facing activities—such as greeting customers, clarifying needs, identifying solutions, and closing sales—and non-customer-facing work, including down stocking, inventory management, and area recovery. They also help maintain store safety by conducting safety walks, reporting hazards, and reinforcing safety and lifting practices. The supervisor works with leaders to identify approaches that meet sales and service objectives and communicates best practices to encourage customer-focused behavior and goal attainment. They may supervise associates in other departments as needed, which requires broad product knowledge and the ability to engage associates and customers across departments. The role also involves communicating concerns, issues, praise, and morale to management. The supervisor may occasionally open or close the store or serve as manager-on-duty. Regular travel is not required, though occasional travel to meetings, trainings, or neighboring stores may be needed. This is an hourly full-time position generally scheduled for 39 to 40 hours per week; more hours may be required based on store needs. Morning, afternoon, and evening availability is required any day of the week.
