About The Position

The Sales Floor Department Supervisor leads and enables a team of associates to deliver a strong customer experience. The role includes coaching and training associates, delegating work, following up on daily tasks, managing performance, and ensuring adequate department coverage. Responsibilities span customer-facing activities such as greeting customers, clarifying needs, identifying solutions, and closing sales; non-customer-facing activities such as down stocking, inventory management, and area recovery; and store safety activities such as safety walks, hazard reporting, and reinforcing safety and lifting directions. The supervisor works with leaders to identify approaches and behaviors that support sales and service objectives, then communicates best practices to the team to encourage customer-focused behavior and goal attainment. The role may involve supervising associates in other departments as store needs require, so broad product knowledge and the ability to engage associates and customers across departments are important. The supervisor communicates concerns, issues, praise, and morale to management. The role may occasionally involve opening or closing the store or serving as manager-on-duty. Regular travel is not required, although occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed.
