About The Position

The Sales Floor Department Supervisor leads and enables a team of associates to deliver a strong customer experience. The role includes coaching and training associates, delegating and following up on daily tasks, managing performance, and ensuring adequate department coverage. Supervisors handle customer-facing activities such as greeting customers, clarifying needs, identifying solutions, and closing sales, as well as non-customer-facing work such as down stocking, inventory management, and area recovery. They also support store safety by conducting safety walks, reporting hazards, and following safety and lifting directions. The supervisor works with leaders to identify approaches and behaviors that support sales and service objectives, then communicates best practices to the team to encourage customer-focused behavior and goal attainment. They may supervise associates in other departments as store needs require, which calls for broad product knowledge and the ability to engage associates and customers across departments. The role also involves keeping management informed about concerns, issues, praise, and morale. Individuals may occasionally open or close the store or serve as manager-on-duty. Regular travel is not required, though occasional travel to meetings, trainings, or neighboring stores/outlets may be needed. Lowe’s associates provide quality customer service while maintaining a clean, safe, and stocked store. The supervisor supports associates with resources and tools, assists with down stocking and area recovery, contributes input on merchandising decisions, and monitors store power-equipment use while coaching employees on safe behavior and lifting techniques.
