About The Position

The Sales Engineer will provide hands-on leadership in sales and business development, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities through various channels. This role involves conducting customer visits, assessing needs, and proposing customized product solutions, as well as preparing and delivering technical and commercial proposals. The Sales Engineer will also be responsible for comprehensive customer relationship management, serving as the main point of contact for distributors and end users, resolving inquiries, and assisting with logistics and order coordination. A key aspect of the role is technical support, guiding customers in the design, installation, and setup of transverse jaws for packaging machines, troubleshooting sealing issues, and collaborating with the internal engineering team for product modifications. Additionally, the position requires internal coordination and administration, including communicating customer feedback to production and assisting with invoicing and documentation. Requirements

  • 2–5 years in technical support, maintenance, or roles related to packaging machinery (e.g., horizontal/vertical form-fill-seal machines, transverse jaws).
  • Solid understanding of packaging machine components and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to interpret and validate technical drawings.
  • Ability to accurately measure and document mechanical components.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly with sealing issues.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and negotiation skills.
  • Effective liaison between clients and internal departments.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable with frequent travel (50% +/-).

Nice To Haves

  • CAD experience (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through research, cold outreach, networking, and industry events.
  • Conduct customer visits to explore growth potential and increase sales.
  • Assess customer needs and propose customized product solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver technical and commercial proposals.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for distributors and end users.
  • Resolve customer inquiries and complaints efficiently and professionally.
  • Assist with logistics, customs processes, order tracking, and delivery coordination.
  • Thoroughly document all customer details and sales progress in Salesforce CRM.
  • Guide customers in the design, installation, and setup of transverse jaws for packaging machines.
  • Troubleshoot sealing issues and recommend performance improvements.
  • Collaborate with the internal engineering team for product modifications and design approvals.
  • Communicate customer feedback to engineering and production to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Assist with administrative duties such as invoicing and documentation.
  • Coordinate with logistics to meet customer-specific shipping and delivery requirements.
