Sales Engineer

Clearly AI
•$125,000 - $175,000

About The Position

Clearly AI is hiring a Sales Engineer to own the technical case in enterprise sales, partnering with Sales, which runs the deal. The role serves security, AppSec, GRC, and privacy leaders at large enterprises, helping them assess Clearly AI through technically grounded discovery, tailored demonstrations, and structured proofs of value. It is intended for someone who can understand real review workflows, explain architecture and data handling clearly, and earn credibility with experienced security practitioners. The position covers technical discovery and demos, proof-of-value planning and execution, enterprise architecture discussions, and the creation of reusable technical resources. The Sales Engineer will convert customer goals into measurable evaluation criteria, configure and run evaluations using customer knowledge and cases, answer security and accuracy questions, and relay reproducible feedback to engineering. The role hands off at signature rather than owning production onboarding; it is not product management and does not involve simply following someone else's demo script. Clearly AI describes itself as an early, deeply technical continuous threat modeling platform serving enterprise customers. The company says it is backed by Y Combinator and several venture firms, has reviewed thousands of security-critical products, and was selected as a Top 10 Finalist for the RSAC 2026 Innovation Sandbox Contest. The role offers the opportunity to build the technical function from the ground up and influence the product and customer wins. Compensation includes a competitive salary, equity, and benefits; no salary range is provided.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience either running security and privacy reviews for large enterprises or working in sales engineering, solutions architecture, or technical pre-sales selling to security teams.
  • Command of enterprise security architecture, including tenancy and data isolation, data residency, and AI governance.
  • Ability to speak the language of security practitioners, including STRIDE, DPIA, TPRM, CVE, and SSDLC.
  • Experience running a multi-week technical engagement to a deadline without it drifting.
  • Familiarity with Jira, ServiceNow, GitHub, Confluence, or OneTrust, and with how review workflows operate in those tools.
  • Clear writing, including the ability to produce success criteria, test plans, and readouts.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with threat modeling, privacy impact assessments, or vendor risk assessments.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise identity and deployment plumbing, including SSO/SAML/SCIM, IP allowlisting, and model providers.
  • Experience working in early-stage startups.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct technical discovery into how prospects currently run reviews and identify workflow challenges and underlying goals.
  • Build demonstrations around prospects’ own use cases and artifacts rather than a generic sandbox.
  • Translate vague proof-of-value requests into specific pass-or-fail criteria.
  • Set up tenants, load customer knowledge, queue historical and live cases, conduct midpoint checks, and deliver technical readouts against agreed criteria.
  • Own enterprise architecture discussions, including tenancy and data isolation, SSO/SAML/SCIM, deployment patterns, model providers, data residency, and audit defensibility.
  • Address accuracy and hallucination objections with evidence and support customers’ vendor security reviews.
  • Explain how Clearly AI compares with threat modeling tools, scanners, GRC platforms, and in-house solutions.
  • Turn evaluation friction into specific, reproducible feedback for engineering.
  • Build reusable demo environments, proof-of-value templates, and technical answers for the team.
