About The Position

Warp is seeking a Sales Engineer to assist engineering organizations in evaluating, adopting, and expanding their use of Factories. This role is a primary technical lead in enterprise deals, working closely with account executives, sales leadership, engineering, and growth teams. The Sales Engineer will demonstrate the value of an AI-powered SDLC to technical buyers, helping them understand metrics like automation rate, ROI on agents, and cost per merged PR. This position will also contribute to building the technical sales playbook for selling Factories. The role involves three main areas: Technical Sales (conducting discovery, demos, deep-dives, handling security reviews, and refining the sales playbook), Proof of Value (scoping and leading POCs, configuring Factories, defining success criteria, and managing technical implementation), and Customer Insight (acting as the customer's voice to product and engineering teams to influence the roadmap). Warp is a fast-growing startup in the AI development space, with over 1 million active developers and significant revenue growth. The company's mission is to empower developers to ship better software faster. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering and hands-on experience with AI coding agents and LLMs.

Requirements

  • 6+ years in a sales engineering, solutions engineering, or technical customer-facing role
  • Experience selling and implementing technical SaaS, ideally developer tools, DevOps, infrastructure, or AI products
  • A background in software engineering: you can read a codebase, debug an integration, and go deep on technical challenges
  • Hands-on with AI coding agents and LLMs, with an informed view on where agents work well today and where they don’t
  • Experience leading POCs and getting through enterprise security and compliance reviews
  • Able to explain complex technical concepts to engineers, engineering leaders, and non-technical stakeholders
  • Highly organized and able to run multiple technical evaluations at once
  • Comfortable building process at an early-stage startup where the playbook is still being written
  • You’ve integrated AI into your daily workflows; at Warp we lean heavily on agents to accelerate and automate our work

Nice To Haves

  • Experience bringing a new product category to market
  • Experience selling into platform engineering or developer productivity teams
  • Experience building agentic workflows that automate processes within a large enterprise environment

  • Run technical discovery, demos, and deep-dives with engineering leaders, platform teams, and individual developers
  • Work through security reviews, compliance questionnaires, and architecture questions to unblock Factories in enterprise environments

  • Scope and lead POCs and pilots that show measurable impact in a customer’s own codebase and workflows
  • Help customers configure Factories for their environment, including agent workflows, model and harness choices, integrations, and self-hosted or bring-your-own LLM setups
  • Define success criteria with customers and build the business case: automation rate, SDLC velocity, cost-to-quality tradeoffs, and time saved
  • Handle technical implementation and onboarding to get teams to a technical win quickly
  • Be the voice of the customer for product and engineering, surfacing patterns from enterprise evaluations that shape the roadmap
