About The Position

Starburst is seeking top performers to match its leading product offering with the right customers. This role is ideal for someone curious with a basic understanding of Starburst's offerings, who will receive comprehensive training and support. The position requires an individual who can manage day-to-day details while understanding the big picture, directing sales efforts to Account Executives. This is a foundational role for a career in software sales, as the first dedicated LATAM Sales Development Representative, pioneering Starburst's presence in Latin America and building the groundwork for a significant growth region. The role involves reaching out to prospective customers in Latin America with tailored hypotheses on how Starburst can solve their pain points, considering cultural and market awareness. The SDR will build and develop a territory from scratch, owning the playbook and setting standards for the region, meticulously tracking outbound activity, and nurturing leads. They will interact with potential customers through various channels, including in-person meetings, trainings, and trade shows, and will learn the basics of prospecting and discovery. The role requires meeting and exceeding lead generation quotas through outbound prospecting (email, phone, social media) in key LATAM markets (Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Chile), qualifying leads, assessing needs, and collaborating with regional Account Executives and cross-functional teams on LATAM-specific messaging and outreach strategies.

Requirements

  • Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is strongly preferred; bilingual candidates highly encouraged to apply
  • Familiarity with the Latin American business landscape, including regional buying behaviors, enterprise sales cycles, and cultural nuances

  • Ability to Travel: This role will require 25% in-person travel for purposes including but not limited to new hire onboarding, team and department offsites, customer engagements, and other company events. Actual travel expectations may vary by role and business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Reach out to prospective customers across Latin America with a well-researched hypothesis on how we can solve their pain, with cultural and market awareness tailored to the region
  • Build and develop territory from the ground up as Starburst's first dedicated LATAM SDR, owning the playbook and setting the standard for the region
  • Meticulously track and nurture your outbound activity
  • Nimbly interact with potential customers through various points of contact including attending in person meetings, trainings, and trade shows with confidence and ease
  • Learn the basics of prospecting and discovery to help jumpstart your career in sales
  • Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual lead generation quotas
  • Outbound prospecting through email, phone calls, and social media to schedule meetings for the Sales team across key LATAM markets including Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, and Chile
  • Qualify leads and assess their needs to determine if they are a good fit for Starburst Data
  • Collaborate with regional Account Executives and cross-functional teams to develop LATAM-specific messaging and outreach strategies
