Sales Development Representative, APAC

GymdeskAustin, TX
Remote

About The Position

Gymdesk is seeking its first Sales Development Representative (SDR) to focus on the Australia and New Zealand markets. This is a 100% remote, full-time contractor position based in the Philippines, operating during Philippines business hours with a preference for an early start to overlap with New Zealand and Australia. The role involves prospecting, contacting, and qualifying gym owners in the region to book meetings for the Account Executive team. It's a phone-forward role that utilizes a sequenced approach, starting with warm-up emails or messages before calls, followed by persistent follow-up. A key skill is navigating conversations with front desk staff to reach decision-makers. Success is measured by qualified pipeline, not just activity. The company provides modern gym management software for CRM, billing, scheduling, payments, and member management, serving thousands of gyms worldwide. This role is crucial for proactively developing the Australian and New Zealand markets, which show steady inbound interest and are dense with target businesses.

Requirements

  • 2+ years in an outbound sales development, telesales, or high-volume cold calling role, ideally selling B2B software or services into Australia, New Zealand, the US, or the UK.
  • Excellent spoken English with a neutral, easy-to-understand accent.
  • Comfortable with rejection and high volume.
  • Genuinely curious in conversation; asks questions and listens instead of reading a script.
  • Able to think on your feet.
  • Organized and CRM-disciplined.
  • Coachable; wants call reviews, acts on feedback, and improves week over week.
  • Self-directed.
  • Reliable home setup: quiet workspace, stable high-speed internet, a backup power or internet plan, and a quality headset.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience selling into Australia or New Zealand.
  • Experience selling to small business owners.
  • Experience in fitness or martial arts.
  • Familiarity with HubSpot and cloud dialers such as Aircall.

Responsibilities

  • Run outbound sequences into Australian and New Zealand gyms, including martial arts academies, boutique studios, and multi-location operators.
  • Expect 60 to 100 outbound touches per day across calls, email, and SMS.
  • Lead with a warm-up touch before dialing.
  • Handle the front desk conversation well and get to the person who makes software decisions.
  • Work cold prospect lists of gyms running competitor software.
  • Work expired and inactive trial lists that need a human to re-engage them.
  • Follow up fast on inbound leads and demo requests.
  • Run qualification conversations that uncover how the gym operates today.
  • Book qualified prospects onto an Account Executive's calendar and write a handoff note the AE can actually use.
  • Log every call, outcome, and qualification detail in HubSpot the same day.
  • Hit and exceed monthly targets for qualified leads (SQLs) and AE-accepted qualified leads (A-SQLs).

Benefits

  • Monthly performance-based commission.
  • 100% remote work.
  • Opportunity to shape sales strategy for a region.
  • Potential for team growth and leadership opportunities.
  • Part of a small, close-knit team where wins are celebrated.
