Beens Insurance Agency: Sales and Development Intern

Students Plus Startups•Leon Valley, TX
•Onsite

About The Position

The Farmers Insurance – Kim Beens Agency is seeking a motivated, curious student to join its team as a Sales Development Intern. This is a hands-on introduction to the insurance sales process, supporting licensed producers with prospective-customer outreach, appointment booking, online customer responses, and learning how insurance is quoted. The internship is suited to someone exploring sales, business, marketing, or insurance. It is a 10-week summer internship through the Students + Startups program, based in the agency’s San Antonio, Texas office. Interns learn the agency’s quoting process but do not quote, sell, bind, or advise customers on insurance coverage; those activities are handled by licensed agents. The internship includes training in insurance basics, the sales process, and compliance, as well as exposure to commercial and personal lines insurance. Interns receive mentorship from experienced agents and agency leadership. For the right candidate, it may provide a path to a licensed role and potentially the protégé program, a path to agency ownership. The internship runs from May 31 to August 6, 2027, and is full-time at 40 hours per week. Attendance at orientation May 26–28, 2027, is mandatory. Students receive a $6,000 summer stipend, paid in three installments. Housing applications are accepted once an internship has been secured.
