About The Position

The Sales & Design Specialist is a client-facing retail role at Herman Miller, focused on helping customers create spaces that support wellness and productivity. The specialist combines design knowledge with consultative selling, providing personalized consultations and serving as a trusted advisor on quality, ergonomics, and style. The role reports directly to the General Manager and contributes to the store’s success.

Requirements

Proven experience in retail sales, interior design, or client-facing design consultation.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a client-first mindset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and design/rendering tools.
Ability to lift or move items over 40 pounds and follow safety protocols.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.

Responsibilities

Inspire and educate clients through in-store demonstrations and personalized consultations.
Design tailored solutions that align with clients’ needs, preferences, and wellness goals.
Drive sales by building strong client relationships and proactively following up on leads.
Collaborate with the Architecture & Design community to grow brand awareness and partnerships.
Maintain visual merchandising standards and ensure a premium store experience.
Process transactions and manage orders accurately and efficiently.
