About The Position

This role supports the Catering Department by assisting Catering Managers with various tasks, including handling inquiries, contracting, site visits, BEO distribution, change logs, and communicating event details to operational departments. Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 20 lb.
  • Must be able to utilize Microsoft Office and Teams
  • Applicant must have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Should be professional, reliable, organized, and detail-oriented.
  • The ability to work Monday through Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm. Willing to work outside these hours when necessary.
  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • Is regularly required to stand, walk and run
  • Is required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects
  • Is required to frequently reach with hands and arms
  • Is regularly required to talk or hear; taste or smell
  • Is occasionally required to sit and stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision

Nice To Haves

  • Familiar with hotel layout, products, services, amenities, and history a plus
  • Experience with catering software is preferred
  • 2 years previous Catering or Conventions experience preferred
  • Prior Hotel / Hospitality experience preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited Hospitality Bachelors program preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide general administrative assistance to all Catering Managers
  • Create and email reports to the proper departments
  • Attend weekly staff meetings
  • Handle client requests in the absence of Catering Managers
  • Any other assigned tasks asked of you by managers.
  • Participate in an "aggressive hospitality program," greeting all guests with warmth and enthusiasm, and be attentive to their needs while they are with us.
  • Support managers within the catering department as requested
  • Learn and follow all hotel policies and procedures pertaining to your area of work.
  • Follow established uniform standards and comply with all other company policies.
  • Practice safety standards and reports all unsafe conditions.
  • Provide fast and courteous service to our guests; to accomplish this, a well organized work area must be maintained.
  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times as a goodwill ambassador of the AGPH to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain a good record of attendance and punctuality at work.
  • Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.
