About The Position

The Sales Compensation Analyst supports the design, modeling, and evaluation of sales incentive plans to ensure they effectively drive desired sales behaviors and align with company financial goals. This role provides rigorous modeling, analysis, and reporting to support plan design decisions and maintain accurate incentive program execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, or related field preferred.
  • 2–4 years of experience in sales compensation, financial analysis, revenue analytics, or related analytical roles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains financial models to evaluate sales compensation plan structures, quota allocation approaches, and incentive mechanics.
  • Performs scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis to understand potential plan outcomes, payout distributions, and cost implications.
  • Supports the design and refinement of sales incentive plans by providing data-driven analysis and modeling insights.
  • Analyzes sales performance, attainment patterns, and payout trends to evaluate plan effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Prepares plan design modeling outputs and financial projections during annual and mid-year plan design cycles.
  • Supports quota modeling and allocation processes to ensure alignment with revenue targets and territory strategies.
  • Produces reports and dashboards that track attainment, payout curves, and incentive plan cost performance.
  • Conducts audits and reconciliations of sales data and payout calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
  • Maintains documentation of plan designs, modeling assumptions, payout mechanics, and analytical methodologies.
  • Partners with Sales, Finance, and HR stakeholders to support plan communication, evaluation, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Assists in forecasting sales compensation expense and monitoring plan performance against budget.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve modeling tools, analytical approaches, and reporting automation.
  • Performs other duties as needed.
