About The Position

The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service by assisting customers with their home improvement needs. This role involves engaging with customers, restocking merchandise, maintaining store cleanliness, and supporting overall store operations. The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, and eager to learn.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
Prior retail, hardware, or customer service experience preferred
General knowledge of tools, hardware, or home improvement is a plus
Construction or DIY experience a bonus, but not required
Basic math and problem-solving skills
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs (team lifting available for heavier items)
Must be able to bend, twist, reach, kneel, and climb ladders as needed
Must be able to work varied shifts, including weekends and some holidays

Responsibilities

Greet and assist customers in a professional, friendly, and timely manner
Provide product knowledge and recommendations based on customer needs
Stock shelves, maintain organized and fully merchandised sales areas
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized store environment (including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal)
Assist with receiving and unloading delivery trucks
Operate cash registers and handle transactions accurately when needed
Assist customers with carry-outs and loading merchandise into vehicles
Help deter theft through awareness and attentiveness
Perform daily register reconciliation and assist with other basic accounting tasks when assigned
Support store team and perform other duties as assigned by leadership
