About The Position

Outreach is hiring a Part-time Sales Associate for Twice Is Nice (TIN) Resale (20-25 hours per week) in Carol Stream. The Sales Associate supports daily store operations by providing excellent customer service, processing donations, pricing and displaying merchandise, operating the cash register, and maintaining a clean and welcoming shopping environment. This position works closely with staff and volunteers to maximize the impact of donated merchandise while demonstrating Christ-centered hospitality to customers, donors, and the community.

Requirements

Strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Ability to multitask, work independently, and complete responsibilities in a timely manner.
Dependable with the ability to maintain consistent attendance.
Basic math skills for calculating prices, discounts, totals, and completing customer transactions.
Availability to work afternoons and Saturdays.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and regularly bend, kneel, twist, climb, push, pull, lift, and carry merchandise.
Ability to ascend and descend stairs, lift and transport up to 45 pounds, and move furniture and equipment.

Responsibilities

Operate the cash register and accurately process customer transactions.
Provide friendly and helpful customer service, assisting customers with merchandise selections and answering questions.
Receive donated goods and provide donors with receipts when requested.
Sort and process donated merchandise, identifying items appropriate for resale and properly disposing of items that cannot be sold.
Price merchandise according to store guidelines, considering brand, condition, quality, and resale trends.
Stock and restock merchandise and monitor inventory levels, reporting discrepancies as needed.
Arrange and maintain attractive merchandise displays, including hanging clothing, stocking shelves, and moving furniture or donated items.
Help maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming store environment.
Work collaboratively with volunteers in receiving, sorting, organizing, and displaying merchandise.
Interact with customers, donors, volunteers, and coworkers in a respectful, positive, and Christ-centered manner.
Participate in Outreach All-Staff meetings, events, and other organizational activities as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Twice Is Nice Manager.
