About The Position

The Sales Associate works at the National Urban League location at 117 W 125th St, New York, NY 10027. The role focuses on providing customer service, helping customers find products, operating the cash register, and supporting store and stockroom operations. The position is full-time, with Monday and Tuesday off, and requires flexibility to work day shifts, including weekends and holidays. The advertised compensation is $17.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

Acknowledge and greet customers.
Communicate effectively with customers, fellow employees, and store management.
Understand the basic store layout, assist customers in selecting products, and answer questions about the store.
Effectively operate a cash register.
Follow company policies, cash-handling policies, and special store loss-prevention procedures.
Communicate pricing, outdated-product, and inventory issues to management.
Protect company assets and stock merchandise in stores and backrooms.
Isolate, sort, and organize damaged and outdated products and returns, and inform management about out-of-stock situations.
Help maintain a neat, clean, and organized store, including sweeping, dusting, straightening merchandise, and removing trash.
Place stock orders, receive freight, and load and unload trucks.
Replenish stock on the sales floor.
Assist with inventory and reconciliation of inventory variances.
Perform related work as assigned.
