Full Time - Sales Associate - Building Materials - Opening
About The Position
The Sales Associate works as a Customer Service Associate in a Lowe’s store, welcoming customers and helping them find products and services for home improvement needs. The role involves answering questions, assisting with product selection and handling, organizing and replenishing merchandise, processing orders and deliveries, and preparing merchandise to meet customer needs. Associates may work in a range of departments, including Building Materials, based on store hiring needs and their skillsets. Duties may also include occasional merchandise loading and cross-functional training in other areas of the store.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer to input, access, modify, or output information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other necessary activities.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Help customers locate and handle merchandise.
- Replenish merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and down stocking products.
- Accurately process orders and deliveries so customers receive the expected merchandise on time.
- Cross-functionally train in other store areas to support customer service.
- Prepare merchandise based on customer needs, such as cutting and bundling wood or cutting drywall.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
