About The Position
As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe's, you provide friendly, professional service and help customers find products and services for home improvement projects. You welcome customers, answer questions, assist with product selection and handling, and may occasionally load merchandise. The role is based in a department assigned according to store hiring needs and your skills, including Building Materials and other listed store departments. Daily duties can vary by department and may include preparing merchandise to customer specifications, guiding customers through shopping or checkout, organizing and replenishing products, and processing orders and deliveries. The role may involve working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and exposure to noise and moving or shaking objects and equipment. Regular travel is not required, though occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or over 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
- Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
- Cross-functionally train in other store areas to help deliver customer service.
- Prepare merchandise based on customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
