About The Position

The Full-Time Sales Associate assists the store management team with daily store operations, including customer service, sales, merchandising, and other assigned responsibilities. Work is expected to be professional, courteous, reliable, and results-oriented. The standard work week is 35 to 40 hours. The position is based at Christiana Mall in Newark, Delaware, and may require working in multiple stores within the assigned district. The role involves helping customers identify and select suitable merchandise, maintaining store presentation and inventory, supporting employee training, and following company policies and operational, safety, point-of-sale, and loss-prevention procedures. Sales Associates must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, meet customer and business needs with flexible availability, and take charge of the store when necessary. The pay range is $16.00 to $17.00 per hour. The role is eligible for the company 401(k) plan. Requirements

Previous retail or customer-service work experience is preferred but not necessary.
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Excellent command of English to communicate effectively with management, customers, and other employees.
Demonstrated leadership and ability to work with minimal supervision and take charge of the store when necessary.
Open availability and flexibility to meet customer demand and business needs.
Basic fashion and style trend knowledge and interest in working with customers in a retail setting.
Proven ability to build and work as part of a team, handle responsibility, and understand the needs of the street lifestyle customer.
Willingness to work in multiple stores in the assigned district.
Reliable transportation.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Build customer relationships by providing professional, courteous, attentive, honest, and responsive service.
Identify customer needs and provide knowledgeable assistance in selecting merchandise.
Use fashion and trend knowledge to recommend appropriate merchandise while maintaining DTLR standards.
Assist with shipments, merchandising, restocking, and pricing.
Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude toward the job and company.
Comply with and enforce company policies.
Participate in service training and product programs.
Assist the Store Manager with identifying loss or inconsistencies and supporting shrink goals at or below company plan.
Monitor and control operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
Support training employees in suggested selling and merchandising techniques.
Minimize inventory shrinkage by protecting the store against shoplifting and internal theft, and follow loss-prevention policies and security procedures.
Follow proper point-of-sale procedures, balance money taken in during an assignment, and work with store management to investigate discrepancies.
Keep management informed of important developments, potential problems, and other information relevant to effective management.
Help maintain a neat and orderly sales environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
