About The Position

The Sales Associate assists with receiving, stocking, and pricing merchandise and helps maintain a clean, orderly merchandise presentation and overall store cleanliness. The role provides customer service throughout the store, supports store operations, and contributes to a positive, professional, and safe work environment. Associates are expected to demonstrate the company’s Core Values in their daily decisions and interactions.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, and climb.
Ability to demonstrate and incorporate the company’s Core Values into daily decisions and interactions.

Nice To Haves

Formal retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide a positive representation of Westlake Ace Hardware and proactively help customers solve problems.
Greet customers, thank them for their visits, and provide friendly, customized service throughout the store.
Answer pages and calls promptly, courteously, and effectively; refer complaints that cannot be resolved to management.
Use product knowledge and knowledge of the store layout to assist customers.
Assist with receiving, checking in, stocking, and maintaining back-stock merchandise.
Help keep the sales floor, stock room, outdoor merchandise area, end caps, and advertising merchandise clean and orderly.
Assist with merchandise resets, price changes, special orders, and keeping store signage current.
Operate a forklift after receiving proper training.
Communicate Store Support Center issues, as well as merchandising, cost-control, or sales ideas, to the General Manager.
Participate in store meetings and maintain professional appearance and conduct.
Perform other duties as assigned.
