About The Position

The Sales Associate serves as a point of contact for customers and helps maintain merchandise presentation, stock levels, and store cleanliness. The role supports customer satisfaction, teamwork, and profitability while protecting company assets. Duties include receiving and stocking merchandise, building displays, assisting customers, operating checkout equipment, handling payments, and performing cleaning and other store tasks as needed.

Requirements

Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
Understanding of safety policies and practices.
Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
Basic mathematical skills.
Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
Frequent lifting of up to 40 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 55 pounds.
Ability to walk and stand frequently; bend, stoop, kneel, push and/or pull rolltainers; and occasionally climb a step ladder to heights of six feet.

Responsibilities

Unload trucks and receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes according to company processes.
Place merchandise in the stockroom or move it directly to the sales floor.
Build merchandise displays; stock, rotate, and face merchandise on shelves; and restock recovered merchandise.
Assist customers by locating merchandise and greet customers.
Operate the cash register and flatbed scanner, itemize and total purchases, bag merchandise, collect payment, and make change.
Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners, as needed.
Bail cardboard and remove trash; dust and mop floors; clean the restroom, stockroom, and front end of the store.
Help set up sidewalk displays when necessary.
Comply with company policies and procedures and perform other duties as necessary to support profitability, customer satisfaction, and teamwork while protecting company assets.
