Full Time - Sales Associate - Hardware - Day
About The Position
The Sales Associate works in Lowe’s Hardware department, combining customer service skills with care for people to help customers find products and services for home improvement projects. The associate welcomes customers, answers questions, helps locate and select merchandise, and supports customers throughout shopping or checkout. The role also includes organizing and replenishing merchandise, processing orders and deliveries, and occasionally loading merchandise. Associates may cross-train in other store areas and perform department-specific preparation, such as cutting or bundling merchandise, as needed.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
- Ability to minimally lift 25 pounds unassisted, or over 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Help customers locate and handle merchandise.
- Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
- Cross-functionally train in other store areas to support customer service.
- Prepare merchandise based on customer needs.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Occasionally load merchandise.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
