About The Position

As a Customer Service Associate in the Paint department, you provide friendly, professional customer service and help customers find products and services for their home improvement needs. You welcome customers, answer questions, help them select and handle merchandise, and prepare paint by tinting and mixing it as needed. You may also assist with stocking, orders, deliveries, checkout, and customer service in other store areas. The role involves working with customers throughout the day and may include occasional merchandise loading.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
• At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
• Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or over 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.

Nice To Haves

• At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
• Bilingual skills.
• A certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers, answer questions, and deliver friendly and professional customer service.
• Help customers locate and handle merchandise.
• Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
• Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
• Cross-functionally train in other store areas to help deliver customer service.
• Prepare merchandise based on customer needs, including tinting and mixing paint.
• Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
