About The Position

The Sales Associate works in the Paint department, welcoming customers, helping them find products and services, and addressing their home improvement needs. The role involves answering questions, selecting and handling merchandise, maintaining stocked shelves, accurately processing orders and deliveries, and preparing paint by tinting and mixing it as needed. Associates may cross-train in other store areas and may occasionally load merchandise. The role may involve occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores, and work in varying indoor and outdoor weather conditions with exposure to noise and moving equipment.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer to input, access, modify, or output information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.

Nice To Haves

At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
Bilingual skills.
Certification in a trade related to the department.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
Replenish merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and down stocking supplies.
Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
Cross-functionally train in other store areas to support customer service.
Prepare department merchandise based on customer needs, including tinting and mixing paint.
Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
Complete other duties as assigned.
