About The Position

The Sales Associate works in the Paint department during closing hours, welcoming customers and helping them find products and services for home improvement projects. The role involves answering questions, locating and handling merchandise, maintaining stocked shelves, processing orders and deliveries accurately, and preparing merchandise based on customer needs, including tinting and mixing paint. Associates may also help customers shop or check out and cross-train in other store areas. Duties may involve occasional merchandise loading and other assigned tasks.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer to input, access, modify, or output information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.

Nice To Haves

At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
Bilingual skills.
Certification in a trade related to the department.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional customer service.
Answer customer questions and help them locate, select, and handle merchandise.
Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
Process orders and deliveries accurately and on time.
Cross-train in other store areas to support customer service.
Prepare department merchandise according to customer needs, including tinting and mixing paint.
Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
Occasionally load merchandise and complete other duties as assigned.
