About The Position

The Sales Associate performs general sales duties in an assigned department and assists in other store areas as needed. The role provides helpful, friendly customer service by greeting and assisting customers, helping them select merchandise, and explaining product features and benefits. The associate may also perform facility upkeep and assist at cash registers. The position requires availability for late afternoons/evenings and every other weekend.

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to work required shifts, including nights and weekends, and maintain attendance standards.

Nice To Haves

3–12 months of retail experience preferred.
Familiarity with forklift and pallet jack operations is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service and approach customers throughout the store to offer help and direct them to merchandise.
Explain merchandise features and benefits, suggest add-on products, and maintain general product knowledge, including expertise in assigned product areas.
Compute price quotes, order merchandise from catalogs, provide business cards, and follow up on special orders.
Answer telephone calls and customer questions within established guidelines.
Practice and maintain security measures.
Communicate out-of-stock items using hot sheets or new item requests.
Use radios to request additional assistance.
Assist customers with checkout and carryouts.
Maintain accurate shelf tags, arrange merchandise according to shelf labels, and set up displays.
Receive merchandise shipments and verify them against receiving reports.
Unpack merchandise, match items with stock numbers, and price and tag items.
Restock shelves and displays and assemble products as needed.
Process interstore transfers.
Perform cleaning duties, including facing merchandise, dusting shelves and displays, sweeping, vacuuming, cleaning windows, and emptying trash.
Maintain cleanliness and merchandising that meets or exceeds Theisen’s brand requirements.
Perform other management-requested tasks, which may include checking the desk or mailbox, preparing for and participating in physical inventory, unloading warehouse delivery trucks, delivering merchandise to customers, and operating cash registers.
