About The Position
The Sales Associate, titled Customer Service Associate in the posting, welcomes Lowe’s customers and helps them find suitable products and services for home improvement needs. The role focuses on listening to customers, answering questions, helping locate and select merchandise, and providing friendly, professional service. Associates may occasionally load merchandise and work in a department assigned according to hiring needs and skillsets, including Inside Garden and other sales departments. Daily work includes replenishing merchandise, processing orders and deliveries, preparing products to meet customer needs, and guiding customers through shopping or checkout. Associates may also cross-train in other store areas. The position may involve occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores, and work in varying indoor and outdoor weather conditions with potential exposure to noise and moving or shaking objects and equipment.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or over 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and deliver friendly and professional customer service.
- Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
- Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
- Cross-functionally train in other areas of the store to help deliver customer service.
- Prepare merchandise based on customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
