Full Time - Sales Associate - Inside Lawn & Garden - Closing
About The Position
The Sales Associate provides friendly, professional customer service in Lowe’s Inside Lawn & Garden department. The associate welcomes customers, helps them find and select products and services for home improvement projects, answers questions, assists with merchandise, and helps ensure customer needs are met. The role involves organizing and replenishing merchandise, processing orders and deliveries, and preparing products according to customer needs. Associates may also train across other store areas and perform additional duties as assigned. The role may involve working indoors and outdoors in varying weather and climate conditions, as well as exposure to noise and moving or shaking objects and equipment. Occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed, though regular travel is not required. Associates must follow safe lifting guidelines: single lifts are limited to 75 pounds, with team lifts used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed; powered equipment should be used when required, with proper training or assistance.
Requirements
- Six months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- Six months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds unassisted, or over 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
- Follow lifting guidelines, limiting single lifts to 75 pounds and using team lifts or powered equipment as required.
Nice To Haves
- Six months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
- Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
- Cross-functionally train in other store areas to help deliver customer service.
- Prepare department merchandise based on customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint or cutting materials.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
