About The Position
As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe’s, you provide friendly, professional customer service and help shoppers find products and services for their home improvement needs. You assist customers throughout their visit, help locate and handle merchandise, answer questions, and occasionally load merchandise. Associates are assigned to a department based on hiring needs and skillsets; this position is identified as Inside Lawn & Garden. Daily work includes listening to customers, organizing and replenishing merchandise, processing orders and deliveries, preparing department merchandise to meet customer needs, and guiding customers through shopping or checkout. Associates may cross-train in other store areas. Work may take place indoors and outdoors, with exposure to varying weather and noise, and may involve moving or shaking objects and equipment. Occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed, though regular travel is not required.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
- Follow lifting guidelines limiting single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
- Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and deliver friendly and professional customer service.
- Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
- Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
- Cross-functionally train in other areas of the store to help deliver the best customer service.
- Prepare merchandise in the department based on customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
