About The Position

The Sales Associate serves as a point of contact for customers, helping them locate and purchase merchandise. The role operates the cash register, stocks and recovers merchandise, cleans the store, and performs other duties assigned by the Store Manager or Manager on Duty to support store profitability, customer satisfaction, and protection of Company assets.

The position involves frequent walking and standing, bending, stooping, and kneeling, as well as handling merchandise and equipment. It is a fast-paced environment with moderate noise and occasional exposure to outdoor weather, hazardous cleaning solutions, slippery floors, and extreme cold in freezers.

Requirements

• Proficient interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understand safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash-handling procedures.
• Ability to perform cash register functions and stock merchandise.
• Knowledge of and willingness to comply with Company policies and procedures in the Standard Operating Procedures manual, Employee Handbook, and Company communications.
• Frequent and proper lifting of up to 40 pounds; occasional lifting of up to 55 pounds.
• Ability to occasionally climb a step ladder to heights of six feet.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers.
• Operate the cash register and scanner; total purchases, collect payments, make change, bag merchandise, and assist customers with merchandise as needed.
• Unpack, stock, restock, and rotate merchandise, and build merchandise displays in accordance with Company processes.
• Clean the store, take out trash, dust and mop floors, clean the restroom and receiving room, and help set up sidewalk displays.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or Manager on Duty.
