About The Position

The Sales Associate provides quality customer service and drives product sales. The role requires knowledge of products across store areas, promotion of sales and offers, and adherence to policies, procedures, and visual standards. As an ambassador for the organization and brand, the Sales Associate creates a distinctive customer experience and helps acquire and retain customers. This is a part-time, hourly position at the Westgate Mall in Amarillo, Texas, with a listed hourly rate of $9.00. The Sales Associate supports daily store operations, including completing work lists, handling shipments, cleaning, and maintaining the store. The role has no supervisory responsibilities and reports to the Store Manager.

Requirements

0–2 years of customer service experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being asked.
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and precisely.
Team player who is passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.

Responsibilities

Provide extraordinary customer service, including assisting customers as they enter the store and helping multiple customers during peak periods.
Promote and sell the organization’s services and merchandise.
Set goals to improve selling skills and track overall sales.
Follow company policies, procedures, and standards in the operations, personnel, visual, and customer service manuals, as well as company memos.
Assist with daily store operations, including work lists, cleanup lists, weekly shipments, and store maintenance.
Present merchandise to promote and sell goods using guidance from the product knowledge manual.
Achieve or exceed sales targets and goals.
Identify and communicate merchandise needs, pricing concerns, and operational problems to store management.
Attend staff meetings and store tech clinics.
Protect company assets and financial information by ensuring internal control procedures are accurate and effective, and by informing management or appropriate officials of potential fraud risks.
