About The Position

The Sales Associate’s primary objective is to create a memorable shopping experience for customers at Cosmoprof, a wholesale and retail distributor of professional beauty supplies. The role helps customers with hair color, cosmetics, skin care, and nail products by offering guidance and product recommendations. Cosmoprof provides product knowledge and training, while the associate brings enthusiasm and a passion for beauty. Schedules and hours vary to accommodate different needs, and employees must be available to meet the business’s scheduling needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be available to meet the scheduling needs of the business.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with customers, co-workers, and management.
• Ability to use knowledge gained from product training to support customer service.
• Ability to read and explain product labels.
• Ability to follow directions and perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally while on a ladder, with or without accommodation.
• The position requires prolonged standing and walking, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities, and recurring lifting of moderately heavy items such as shipment or record boxes.
• The role involves working around moving parts, carts, or machines and may occasionally involve exposure to irritant chemicals, fumes, or odors.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of retail sales or customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build customer relationships and inspire loyalty.
• Recommend additional and complementary products.
• Inform customers about current promotions and events.
• Set up advertising displays and arrange merchandise to highlight sales and promotional events.
• Inform customers about the Loyalty program and enroll them in it.
• Complete transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain a professional store environment and communicate inventory issues.
• Demonstrate Cosmoprof Culture Values.
• Apply product knowledge training to support customer service.
• Read and explain product labels.
• Follow directions and perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.
