About The Position

Uptown Cheapskate is seeking outgoing, dependable team members who enjoy working with people, thrive in a fast-paced retail environment, and take pride in creating a great customer experience. This role has a special focus on employee safety, where the associate will act as a point person for difficult customers, help deter theft, and ensure younger staff feel safe and comfortable, especially during closing shifts. This is not a security position, and the associate will still be expected to perform standard Sales Associate duties.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting every customer.
• Keep the sales floor clean, organized, and well-stocked.
• Work as part of a team to maintain a fun, energetic, and welcoming shopping environment.
• Learn current fashion trends and our buying standards.
• Operate the point-of-sale system and assist with transactions.
• Help maintain store appearance and organization throughout each shift.
• Act as a point person for difficult customers.
• Help deter theft.
• Ensure younger staff feel safe and comfortable at work, including escorting or being present during closing shifts.
• Interact with potential theft customers.
• Interact with angry customers.
